On 31 March 2026, the Co-Bio project officially came to an end after several years of collaboration, learning, and co-creation across Europe. Through local case studies in six countries, the project explored how communities, local stakeholders, and professionals can work together to support urban biodiversity through practical, locally adapted actions.
The local cases covered a wide range of interventions, including biodiversity gardens, micro-forests, pollinator-friendly planting, schoolyard greening, urban wildlife support, biodiversity corridors, and community co-creation activities. Despite their different local contexts, all case studies demonstrated the value of co-creation by involving citizens and other stakeholders in shaping greener, more resilient urban environments.
Alongside the local activities, the project developed several key outputs, including a co-creation guide, a teaching methodology, local case descriptions, and short videos presenting the experiences and lessons learned in each country. All project materials are available in the languages of the partner countries on the project’s website, helping future initiatives build on the knowledge and inspiration generated during the project.
If you are planning an urban biodiversity initiative, looking for inspiration, or interested in community-based approaches to Nature-based Solutions, we encourage you to explore the project outputs and discover the diverse experiences of the Co-Bio partners.
