Partners of the ACT Project gathered on 12-13 May at NINA – Norwegian Institute for Nature Research in Trondheim – for the official kick-off meeting of the project.
The meeting provided an opportunity for partners to exchange ideas, and discuss the operational aspects and implementation of the project. During the event, DAISY Project was also presented, opening discussions on potential synergies and future collaboration opportunities.
ACT advances transformative governance through transboundary conservation and collaborative learning, addressing key challenges in governing complex social-ecological systems across Transboundary Conservation Areas (TBCAs).
The project focuses on four TBCAs in Europe and South Africa: the East Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, Pasvik-Inari Transboundary Area, Danube Delta Transboundary Biosphere Reserve, and Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park.
Through dialogue workshops, participatory tools, and collaborative research approaches, ACT aims to support transformative change and strengthen governance practices that can contribute to reversing biodiversity loss.
Coordinated by NINA – Norwegian Institute for Nature Research, the consortium brings together partners from Slovakia, Poland, Romania, South Africa and Hungary. ACT is funded under Biodiversa+, the European Biodiversity Partnership, through the 2024–2025 BiodivTransform call.
