An exciting community project has been launched through the joint initiative of the Alföldi (Lowland) Shelter and the street newspaper “Fedél nélkül” (Without Shelter), which will culminate this autumn in a special issue titled “Fedő nélkül” (“Without a Lid”). The publication aims to uncover the hidden sides of the Népszínház (People’s Theater) Street area, with not only journalists but also the shelter’s residents and staff actively participating in its editing.
The project, initiated by our EMCCINNO partner Internép, began with a public introduction in April and has now reached a new milestone: on May 29, a community “restaurant” called Felföldi (Highland) opened at the Alföldi (Lowland) Shelter, where participants became not just guests but members of the team as well. The event was open to anyone interested in joining this unique community-building process or who had something to share about Népszínház Street. The GreenFormation team also supported the event, which brought together approximately 60 participants. The occassion contributed to community building through DJing, music listening, jokes and storytelling, shared cooking, hosting, and conversations, while also gathering ideas for the upcoming special issue.
Stay tuned for more updates.
