Background The DAISY Project, funded under Horizon Europe, aims to foster transformative innovation for biodiversity and societal transformation. To support its goals, DAISY seeks professional services for website development, visual design, and project branding.
We invite qualified firms or individuals to submit tenders for delivering a comprehensive online presence and engaging design solutions that reflect the project’s objectives.
Scope of Work The selected contractor(s) will deliver services in three main areas: Website Development, Website Design, and General Design. Collaboration with content creators and project partners is essential to ensure the successful execution of the tasks.
2.1 Website Developer
Domain Registration:
- Book the domain name: mydaisy.eu.
Website Development:
- Develop the project website (mydaisy.eu) with the following interactive features:
- Online Speed Dating Among Innovations: Facilitate matchmaking among transformative innovations.
- Storyboards for Policymakers: Create user-friendly storyboards (e.g., “How to drive biodiversity and societal transformation as a policymaker?”).
- Local Communities’ Biodiversity Message Wall: Enable community-driven contributions.
- Seed Bank of Win-Win Solutions: A searchable database of case studies.
- Online Training Modules: Interactive e-learning tools.
Navigation and Functionality:
- Implement intuitive navigation and advanced search capabilities.
- Ensure the website supports:
- Hosting project results, news, and resources.
- Open access course materials.
- Social media integration.
Maintenance and Editing:
- Ensure a user-friendly content management system for project partners.
- Provide regular support for content management and consultation opportunities.
Online Platform Integration:
- Develop a one-stop shop for transformative Horizon Europe projects.
- Include:
- Events, news, and document repositories.
- Virtual makerspaces for collaboration and innovation (similarly e.g. to https://weadapt.org/)
Hosting Infrastructure:
- Set up and manage reliable, secure hosting infrastructure for the duration of the project (until 2028).
- Provide hosting 5 years after the project has ended (until 2032).
2.2 Website Designer
Visual Design:
- Create an engaging and user-friendly interface with a cohesive mix of visuals, branding, and colour schemes (including compulsory elements required by the European Commission).
Design Elements:
- Develop visual support for:
- Infographics.
- Transformative stories.
- Multimedia content (GIFs, videos, podcasts).
Accessibility and Responsiveness:
- Ensure the design is compatible with diverse audiences and accessible across all devices and browsers.
Information Layouts:
- Design attractive templates for:
- Policy briefs.
- Newsletters.
- Infographics.
2.3 General Designer
Project Branding:
- Develop a logo and branding manual, including:
- Templates for newsletters, word files, signatures, deliverable templates, roll-up and presentations, postcards and other representation materials.
- Guidelines for consistent visual messaging to be used by the project partners.
- Presentation of the branding materials with a consultation option from the partners.
Social Media and Outreach:
- Create visuals and layouts for social platforms (e.g., Bluesky, LinkedIn).
- Develop transformation countdown calendars, infographics, and GIFs based on the deliverables in consultation with the project partners.
Deliverables Design and Layout:
- Design layouts for:
- Policy briefs, scientific articles, and training materials.
- Transformation guides.
- Provide visually compelling templates for all project outputs.
- Design 5 specific project deliverables (20-50 pages) using a set template and if applicable illustrations, photographs and other visual materials.
- Design 20 specific deliverable briefs (1-3 pages) using a set template and if applicable illustrations, photographs and other visual materials.
Interactive Features:
- Collaborate on online training modules and MOOCs with providing design elements.
- Design external-facing materials, including high-quality printable content.
2.4 Collaborative Tasks
Coordination:
- Work with project partners and content creators to align content placement and interactive features.
Monitoring and Updates:
- Regularly update content and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with the website.
Support CDEP Implementation:
- Actively contribute to the Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation Plan (CDEP) by providing communication advice on how best to reach the target audience.
- Timeline: The work is to commence in February 2025 (M1)and foreseen throughout the entire project with main website and design development activities up to June 2025. Deliverables are foreseen to be developed throughout the three years with a more intense peak in 2027. Deliverables and timelines will be detailed in the contract.
- Eligibility and Evaluation Criteria
Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrated experience in website and graphic design.
- Proven ability to deliver user-centric, interactive features.
Portfolio:
- Samples of past work showcasing relevant experience (e.g. work in biodiversity/sustainability).
Cost-Effectiveness:
- Competitive pricing aligned with the project’s budget.
Collaboration:
- Evidence of collaborative project management.
Sustainability:
- Green hosting of servers and additional sustainability measures will be an important aspect in evaluation.
- Submission Requirements
Proposals must include a max. of 2 pages on:
- Technical proposal outlining the approach, tools, and timelines.
- Financial proposal with a detailed breakdown of costs.
- Two references from previous clients.
- In an annex besides the 2 pages: Portfolio of relevant work.
