GreenFormation, as part of the EU-funded DAISY project recently organised the validation workshop for the Budapest degrowth donut (BDD) Learning History. The event brought together key contributors from Corvinus University of Budapest, the Budapest Municipality, and Budapest Publiy Transport Company to review and refine the Learning History documenting Budapest’s degrowth journey.
During the two-hour, in-person workshop, participants revisited milestones from the project’s early conceptual phase in 2022 to the integration of the Degrowth Doughnut framework into Budapest’s Climate City Contract in 2024. The discussions helped validate the narrative and recall additional insights, highlighting the value of iterative reflection in capturing complex learning processes.
By revisiting the timeline together, participants deepened their shared understanding of how the BDD evolved from research to policy practice. The workshop not only strengthened the project’s methodological integrity but also exemplified GreenFormation’s commitment to participatory, learning-based urban transformation.
