Ashoka, in collaboration with the science shop and researchers at Corvinus University of Budapest, launched a 12-month research project in January 2022 to address relevant issues affecting social enterprises. Veronika Kiss, Co-Founder of EcosystemEvaluation is coordinating the work. As a first step, colleagues from Corvinus University explored the lack of research data based on the opinion of researchers familiar with the sector and according to the relevant literature. After collecting researchers’ answers and compiling a literature review, stakeholders of Hungarian social enterprises were asked within a questionnaire to select the two most relevant topics to be researched. These two, selected topics are the management characteristics of social enterprises and specialties arising from the duality of social and economic goals. To explore the selected two topics more deeply, researchers at Corvinus University are preparing six case studies on diverse social enterprises. Based on the results of this mini-research, Veronika will prepare short, user-friendly summaries of the completed materials and widely share them with social enterprises during the fall of 2022.
