During the last week of May 2023, GreenFromation participated in the C4E Forum in Slovakia with app. 150 participants. The aim of this bi-annual community-building event is to build and strengthen Central and Eastern Europe’s energy efficiency community. Due to the current multiple crises, this year’s conference was centred around three main topics: energy security, the rebuilding of Ukraine and EU policy (REPowerEU and Fit-for-55 package).
While resource consumption of the EU and other developed nations are still on rise despite all efficiency efforts, people are hit by skyrocketing energy prices and the fear of geopolitical instability. It is, however, already scientifically proven, that capping resource consumption in a socially just manner, or in other words implementing the concept of sufficiency, can contribute to mitigating energy poverty, energy independence and the climate crises at the very same time.
During the C4E Forum, GreenFormation presented the potential of integrating the concept of energy sufficiency in policy making and how it could contribute to enhancing the well-being of all, contributing geo-political stability, while respecting the finite limits of the globe. The presentation can be found here. In case you are interested in our work in relation to sufficiency, please do not hesitate to contact us.
